Haiku syllables
Five seven five and no more
Let us make some noise
Day 3 Tokyo
New boots REI top dog
Evil pain demons
Soon my achilles
Snap strain pop against the boot
My year away done
Last month surgery
Left knee still swollen and stiff
Now right foot: Satan!
Cannot walk. Caged, Sunk.
In hotel alone. Despair.
Why did I come here?
When one travels long
The most important thing is
Health. Thus, I am scared
But life gives lessons.
Each fall teaches, guides, strengthens.
Pain fades, gratitude.
